Not that cheap, but good. I recommend going there on schnitzel day
A very nice place, with very friendly waiters!
Unfortunately, the service (older lady, short dark hair, above) was initially annoyed and unfriendly. As soon as you assigned us the space, this continued with the order as well as with the renewed inquiry because something was missing in the order. (during the week) The food, however, was very tasty and in the end it was friendlier.
We were here for a coffee, asked voter if you could pay with a card and said that it would stay with the coffee. We were positive, in the end of course we couldn't pay by card, which was really annoying as we didn't have any cash with us. Order acceptance also took a long time, as well as the notification that we would like to pay.
A really good choice for eating out. The service is great except for one person and the food is sold on good terms. In addition, the meal is served quickly and tastes great too. My conclusion: Recommended
A few weeks ago I reserved a table for 5 people there days beforehand. When we got there nobody knew about this reservation because it was not registered. Our evening was unfortunately over and we had to look for something in Saarbrücken in the rain in the evening where we could halfway something small food. The shop was jam-packed and they didn't even try to look if we could sit down somewhere, but left us immediately after the message that no table had been reserved. I found it quite unprofessional from the person who forgot to enter it, but even worse from the lady who clearly hadn't even looked to see if we could sit down. Well, for me, never again, but you only hear good things about food, so the two asterisks.
Very competent team, food was great, I've eaten such a good steak for a long time. Prices not overpriced.
Never go there again. I couldn't eat my chicken. Don't know if that was chicken at all. The only thing that was really nice was that I didn't have to pay for it (had to give everything back).
Cozy and well-frequented restaurant. You sit right in the old town. Good menu and great daily specials. The staff is friendly too. You should definitely reserve a table in advance.
It was everything you would expect for a small bistro. Good food, attentive and friendly service. Corona distance was also guaranteed
The decoration on the squares and in the entire restaurant is sensible and tasteful. The toilet is constantly clean and all in all the place gives a very good impression. For my part, I can say that nothing has broken us yet! Every time the place was a good experience in my mouth, the waiters are extremely nice and accommodating every time. That makes me thoroughly happy every time I visit, I haven't been so fascinated by a restaurant for a long time.
Ideal for unwinding, pleasant surroundings and terrace ideally located to enjoy the last rays of sunshine on Sankt Johann square
I have been to tante maja several times already and it was fine but last time i did, was on friday evening, the service was very slow and the food was way below what one would expect. It tasted like nothing.
You can sit there on the forecourt and watch the goings-on. The service is friendly. Monday is schnitzel day at reasonable prices (around 10 EUR per - large - portion). The food is not world-shattering (the cream sauce for the schnitzel is relatively tasteless, herbs and spices are used sparingly). For the spoiled palate, however, I would recommend other restaurants. Current info: The tables in the interior are not glued because they are dirty, but were incorrectly waxed without being sanded down beforehand. Frequent cleaning will now loosen the wax - that's why the tables are sticky. But that will be fixed promptly (we were told). There are also transparent partitions between the tables in the interior (due to Corona). The service is friendly and quick.
Had ordered lunch in the afternoon. We got a bad salad and a frozen paella. Unfortunately, food is not recommended. But the service was polite and nice.
I had ordered a salad (Mexico salad), some of the teilweise were already brown and the salad itself wasn't that tasty. There was a tiny hair on a cucumber. Wouldn't eat there again. Service was very friendly!
nonchalant waiters. Two of them had their mask under their nose the whole time, and another two of them just kept chatting at the bar without one. Allthewhile we kept waiting for someone to notice us in order to pay for the kinda bland, but allright food.
We asked to the guy if we could use the table that had just been cleared (He was tallking with another guy and his answer wasn’t nice). The service was slow, not very friendly. We asked for ice since the warm juice arrived (twice), I saw how the waiter was spinning and after 15 or 20 minutes we had to stand up and ask for it and for salt directly. The food was regular, warm temperature, but not worth the price. Nothing spectacular. A girl was the only one who served us well. We went with my partner to celebrate and unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience.
Good food at reasonable prices, nice service in a rustic setting. Definitely to be recommended!
Aunt Maja is a highly recommended restaurant. The menu contains something suitable for every guest. The service staff is very friendly and attentive. There is also plenty of outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the St. Johanner Markt. The prices are fair and card payments are also possible. We were very happy and would love to come back.
Ordered the pork schnitzel with mushroom sauce, and a cola-bier. Massive portions! No English menu but the waiters were kind and accommodating. Be sure to ask for tap still water since the default is sparkling and expensive...
Excellent! Hearty plates and great food! Very friendly staff! Superb location, beautiful terrace. Everything was very good!
Nice
Trendy place. Trendy food. All good.
Had my birthday party there loved it
Food was delicious and was served quickly. The staff was a bit stressed because of the many visitors, but they were still friendly. The interior EC is low, so it is quite dark. The food on bar stools (entrance area) to eat, was not mine.
Good food and location.
Good food and big portions, friendly staff who speak English. The atmosphere is cozy and the decorations made us feel like being at a German grandma's home.
Had dinner here with my girlfriend today. The food was delicious and the service was very nice. It's nice to sit outside and listen to the street musicians. The price-performance ratio is more than fair for this location. The chairs could be a little more comfortable. Would come again anytime.
Best place for schnitzel for sure
Absolutely great food and good drinks. Both for a fair price! Friendly and quick service. If you are in Saarbrücken, be sure to go here. The location is perfect for sundowners or for a short relaxation from shopping stress.
They have a good selection of food. The service is quick and friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. I am definitely looking forward to going back there to eat. I went back for a second time. The service is still amazing and fast. I walked into the restaurant 15 minutes before they closed for the lunch session. I was still served with quick and polite service despite my late entry.
Great place to have a beer and people watch near the fountain in the market square!
We had a nice meal good sized portions and a good informative menu for those with allergies.
still open at 1 a.m. drinks ok
I enjoyed the chicken breast "Maja"! It was delicious and well balanced with the small baked potatoes. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to enjoy a delightful meal.
Perfect bar for people watching whilst enjoying a drink in the sun
Comfy little restaurant. I can recommend the schnitzel
Tasty food, fast service.
Lovely local restaurant, no english or french service
Super
Pasta Wednesday!
The minz from the minz tea wasn't fresh. And the Flammkuchen was burned under the bottom. When I complained about the minz tea, they denied the fact. And the waitress attitude was arrogant.
Terribly rude staff and bad food. No positives.
Super
